Calico’s are a Royal Palm-based tricolored bird with an added red gene that brings that tone in addition to the black and white plumage of the Royals. I personally think that our Calicos are the most striking turkeys that we offer. They are a medium-sized bird with mature toms weighing in around 25 lbs. Because of their genetic makeup, Calico’s do not breed true, producing Calico’s, Royal Palms, and Red Palms when mated. However, I will say that ours have historically produced far more Calico poults than any of the other two varieties.
